Christmas Eve Service

December 24^th at 6:30 pm

            This evening service is an exciting time for families from all over to come and gather on the night before Christmas to sing, celebrate and reflect on the birth of the little baby who changed our world.  It is open to everyone and finishes with songs sung only by candlelight.

Christmas Dinner – 25^th 12:00 pm

             For the first year, there will be a Community Christmas Dinner hosted at our church.  It is open to everyone, if you are feeling like you would like to get together with some others Christmas day – this is for you!  You need to bring nothing except yourself.  If you can not attend this year, please make sure your neighbors know that they are invited too.  This is a simple gesture, of giving back because we have been given so much.

We only ask – that in order to prepare enough food that you let us know you are coming, either call at 306.382.8400 (leave a message) or email us at mpcc@sasktel.net - to register.

Massey Misto House Friday 27^th at 7:00 pm

         This ‘coffee house’ is open to everyone, with live local musicians playing popular music, coffee and desserts and great discussion based on a video.  We will be closed the 20^th, but come on the 27^th dressed in your best ‘Christmas sweater’ – free coffee for all who come in their Christmas garb!

Great November Events!

Just want to highlight for everyone the amazing things happening at Massey Place Community Church

First - the Massey Misto House - each Friday at 7pm - check out this video - a small sample of the great music you will hear.  Also find that video and so much more on the Facebook page.


Second - our Spanish family will be having a youth driven service this Sunday - come check it out Sundays at 2 (Sunday School) and 3 for their worship service.  (open to everyone but done in Spanish).


Finally - our Sunday AM service has some great things in store.  We have been working hard at promoting and working with the Billy Graham association and their My Hope Campaign.

Throughout homes, workplaces, on cable tv and most anywhere :) - you will get to see a great program speaking about 'hope' - we will also be showing it for all - Sunday November 17th at 10:30 am.
If you as looking for some 'hope' in life - come and see, watch and hear about the difference in life that you too could experience.

Exciting Fall Kick off Sunday

This Sunday (September 15th) - we have some amazing things planned for our church fall kick off.

1. Still collecting for the MCC School Kits (for what to bring go HERE) - but the greatest item needed is the booklets - 140 page note books.  (This is what we already have collected - yep its a lot!)

2. For our kick off Sunday we are starting a new series called "Ordinary People" - come and check it out!

3. The morning service will be followed by a BBQ Lunch (and YOU are invited :)

Picture Juicy burgers and ice cream cones here.... or instead of picturing them - come and taste them - this Sunday!

4. Last on this list - but the reason for it all.... we will be celebrating with a BAPTISM!  We do this all because we know that Jesus Christ has changed our lives - and continues to transform people as the are captured by his heart, love, grace and forgiveness!

What an amazing end to the summer holidays!  Here is an amazing start to the fall season!

Sunday September 8th - My Hope Explained - come and see the Billy Graham My Hope video that we will be promoting in early November -  all about the Hope we have in Christ!

After church - on the 8th - you are invited to join our morning English service, the Spanish service and our Sister church in Delisle for the annual fall Corn Roast!  Meet at Massey Place Church at 2:00 pm for the caravan out to the roast!

Sunday September 15th - is our Back to Church kick off Sunday!  All the programs will be in full swing - and we start off with a new series --- "Ordinary People" - come and check it out!

A Mid-Summers night dream!

What a fantastic summer!  We have had a huge range of weather, from hot sunny days to heavy water filled lawns.  The mosquitoes have been like swarms but the joy of being outside is also evident of everyones face.  After a long winter - summers are always great!

Here at Massey Place Church we have been working hard throughout the summer at engaging with people - people just like YOU!  We feel like God is still calling us to connect with our friends, families and neighbourhoods!  So our amazing intern has created new welcome packages - two different ones in fact!  If you are interested in learning more about the church or are new to the neighbourhood/Saskatoon let us know and we can get you a free package.  They include everything from community events, bus schedules to local amenities to local support for those new to english and information about Massey Place Community Church!

May 4th - we are partnering with the Saskatoon Food bank - helping to collect from our neighbourhood on Saturday - if you want to help, come on by to the church at 10:30 am Saturday Many 4th!  It will only take a hour (ish) and you will get to help a great organization and get some exercise too!

Brand New Dave Ramsey Class!

We get the great opportunity of being able to host a pre-release version of the brand new course from Dave Ramsey.  Never before seen anywhere!  I will be a streaming version, with the full release following in August.

A few upcoming events!

The following events are things that we are supporting, participating in and just letting you know about.

Please pay special attention to the locations, as they are not happing at our facility.


Dr. Andy Bannister - this event is specifically for those who have questions about God, religion or faith.  The questions of great & eternal significance that are important to each of us.  He is a world renowned speaker and it is a great opportunity for us to have him in our city.  If you are interested, please make sure to bring other people with questions about God - that's what it's all about!

Next - as a church we have been part of the planning group for a joint Good Friday service the past 12 years.  Again this year we are looking forward to this larger gathering at Sutherland Evangelical Church (110-104th St West, Sutherland), Friday March 29th, at 10:30 am.  Come and join us!

The Survival of the Weakest Conference - this April 13 - hosted at Lakeview Church.  There are so many great people, and opportunities to see the world and all it's difficulties from a Christian perspective.  Check it out and if you are able I would encourage you to attend!

Annual General Meeting Sunday

This Sunday - March 3rd, we will be celebrating the past calendar year during our Annual General Meeting.

During the morning service we will have our regular worship service, followed by a pot-luck lunch.  If you are visiting we encourage you to stay with us (there will be enough food for you and your family too!) if you are a regular attender bring a main dish or salad and a dessert, the some of the Spanish service will join us for lunch and more will join us for the 1:00pm AGM meeting.

Following the meeting, which will be less than an hour long, the Spanish service will hold their regular service.  They have had new visitors joining them and don't want to miss them when they come to church (praise God!)!!

Good day to all!

Even though it has been WAY to long since the last update things have not slowed down here at all!

We had a fantastic 50th anniversary celebration and are now heading into the February & March months with some great things in store for everyone!

This coming Sunday - February 10th, Pastor Miguel will be sharing about his trip to Guatemala this past fall.  Come and join - 10:30 am during our regular morning service time.

Tuesday February 12th we are starting to learn more about Islam - in connection with a number of area churches we will be learning more about all our new neighbours, 6 Tuesday nights.  This event is NOT hosted at our church, but you can contact us for details!

February 22nd and 23rd we get the privilege of hosting Richard Fangrad from CMI - Canada.  Check out the FB event invite HERE - or their website HERE or just come on out!  Friday 7-9 pm and Saturday 9am (breakfast included!) until 12pm - for 3 sessions total.
 - Biblical authority has been largely rejected in western society and its effects are widespread in our culture (pornography, violent crime, drug use etc.)  How does this relate to the creation/evolution issue?  Find out on Friday February 22 & 23,2013, when Creation Ministries speaker Richard Fangrad will share timeless biblical truths and modern scientific facts in a powerful multimedia presentation that will help Christians to 'demolish arguments' that the world uses to convince people 'the Bible isn't true'!

Sunday March 3rd is our church Annual General Meeting.  Following our service we will join together for lunch and then celebrate the past year (2012)!

50th Anniversary!

It has been 50 years in the making!

On January 12th and 13th we are celebrating our 50th anniversary as a church.  We invite you to come and join us for a come and go tea Saturday the 12th from 1 pm till 5 pm at the church.  You will get to visit with friends, both old and new as well as explore the church building.  You are also invited to join us for a special service Sunday morning the 13th at 10:30 am.

Our special guests are Ron and Marjorie Lofthouse.  They are the founding pastoral couple!  What a great privilege it is to have them spend the weekend with us!

There is also a Banquet Saturday night and Lunch Sunday after the service.  You are welcome to come then to, there is not set cost, but donations to cover expenses are welcome.  We just ask that you let us know you are coming (and how many of you are able to come), so we can make sure we have enough food and seats!
